Metaphors of Broken Mandate presents twelve pastiche drawings that reflect on the fragile state of global systems. Each image features a four-legged chair—symbolizing power, control, and belief—struggling to remain upright under pressure. Blending human, animal, and object forms, the works draw from history, propaganda, pop culture, and imagined futures. They explore themes such as war, cultural decay, environmental collapse, and forced migration. Rather than telling a single story, the drawings serve as fractured reflections of the world we inhabit. The series invites viewers to question the systems they rely on—and consider what happens when those systems begin to fail.
